Liber L. vel Bogus by Richard T Cole.
Review to follow soon.
Thanks to Richard for sending me a promo copy for review.
We insist from the beginning on the individual character of the work, and upon the necessity of maintaining the objective and skeptical standpoint. You are explicitly warned against reliance upon “authority,” even that of the Order itself. Consider my own assets, personal, social, educational, experiential and the rest: don’t you see that all I had to do was to put out some brightly-coloured and mellifluous lie, and avoid treading on too many toes, to have had hundreds of thousands of idiots worshiping me?
Do not let the government tell us what we can do with the gift if the internet. We are becoming akin to China!

Recently, on the LAShTAL.com forums a request was made for the actual dimensions of the Abbey of Thelema in Cefalu, Italy. This simple request for information prompted me to use my skills and experience and attempt to record the Abbey’s particulars into as complete a set of plans, if I could. The shell of the building has been confirmed and agreed, with Abbey researcher exemplars as Richard T Cole, Anna Apostolidou and other regulars on the LAShTAL Forums, who have an in-depth knowledge of the building. The result is the .pdf contained within this post. It includes floor plans, elevations and a section, along with a few images and a blog piece from Latetitia on http://www.atlasobscura.com/places/aleister-crowley-s-thelema-abbey.
The second stage of the process involves creating a shell of the Abbey in 3D software, then attempting to render it with the murals etc.
Having secured the assistance of a visualization expert, that I have personally worked alongside the last 15 years, I do have hopes that the resulting model, will portray the Abbey of Thelema as accurately as can be established, when in use by Crowley, in 1920-1923.
It is well documented the images that it contained. Details or photos of them though in their entirety, are scarce
The thing is, the Abbey now looks like it’s barely holding together. Many murals, paintings and sketches, carried out by Aleister Crowley’s and others own hands will never see the light of day. Parts of them have, they were revealed in part by Kenneth Anger’s trip there in 1955.
Click on the link below to download or view the plans of the Abbey of Thelema
Without access to the actual blue prints of the original building, it is extremely difficult to try and assess the actual structure.
Also, having not physically been to the Abbey and surveyed the building personally, dimensions, heights and layout are based on Richard T Coles
detailed analysis that is included in his “Thelema Revisited – The search for Aleister Crowley” publication. Richard has been invaluable in this project.
If you have any further information in regards to the actual layout, structure etc please email me
The next stage of the project is to create a 3D walk through. Initially it will be a shell but with analysis of each room and photos of the murals, I may be able to render them as best I can. If you have high quality images of the murals, then please forward them to me for inclusion at the email address above.
I have been an official member of the above site since July 10, 2006. Prior to this, I could have been affectionally called a “Lurker”, ie. someone who pours over the daily interactions between members, new news/event posts, image galleries, interviews, downloadable texts and other facets of information about Aleister Crowley’s life and sub sequential impact on culture and society. This resource has no doubt aided many on the Thelemic path, as well as assisting those looking into research for books or topics that could be linked to Aleister Crowley , his legacy and influence.
There comes a time though, when these abundant resources have equally abundant costs. The solitary owner and a couple of extremely helpful coders can only prop up the defences against the tide, alone, for so long. Currently there are only 8 donators, contributing roughly £5/month, the owner pays the difference from his own pocket. Having come from a standard forum and developed into the interactive site it is today has been a slow evolution, one that with each passing year requires more and more financial backing. Having seen Kick-starter campaigns for substandard causes on Facebook almost daily, leads me to think about starting one up for LAShTAL itself, (might be best done by the actual owner of the site). Maintaining its online presence is vital. There are also many guests of various orders, groups and solitary individuals, frequenting its pages and threads. Some incognito, some obvious, some righteous and some silent, all have taken something of worth regardless. Is that not worth protecting? Where else can you find such a comprehensive resource on Uncle Al’s life, legacy and Thelemic thought ? Nowhere thats where. So please help and donate.
Please make a one off donation at the link at the bottom of the page. Also put in the notes that you came from my site. You could also go to the site itself, LAShTAL.com and donate via a couple of options there and if you have not already, register on its forums.

Sadly I have to part with a few of my cherished possessions. It started with Liber Lilith, which is still available due to bidders trying to actually make me lose money with bidding £22.50 for the book! Come on, Dick Turpin wore a mask!
I am listing here, with a little notice those books that I am selling. Six in total, all have specific value to those in the occult/esoteric field.
Hardcover. Large Quarto (11 1/4 x 8 3/4 inches, approx. 28.5 x 22cm). lxiv + pp. Quality deep blue cloth binding, with a gilt sigil & titling stamped on the front cover, and gilt title etc. on the spine. Sewn, printed on library-quality paper. English language texts [64pp.] + facsimile of the original Hebrew manuscript [158pp.]. Edition limited to 358 numbered copies. An Exact Facsimile of an Original Book of Magic in HebrewThe book centers on a Hebrew manuscript entitled ‘Sepher Maphteah Shelomoh,’ that dates from around 1700. The original manuscript was discovered in the library of a London Rabbi, Samuel Marcus Gollancz (1819-1900), by his son, Hermann, not long after his father’s death. Hermann Gollancz, himself an eminent Hebrew scholar, was fascinated by the manuscript, and felt that its study might give important insight into the history and origins of the “Solomonic” grimoires or books of magic, that are a mainstay of the Western occult tradition. In 1903 Gollancz published his preliminary thoughts and translations in a booklet entitled ‘Clavicula Salomonis, A Hebrew Manuscript,’ and in 1914 he published a facsimile of the manuscript, along with a twenty-page English-language Introduction discussing the text and quoting from it, under the title Sepher Maphteah Shelomo in an edition of only 300 copies. Both works are extremely rare, and have never before been reprinted. This new Teitan Press edition includes the full text of both of Gollancz’s commentaries, and a facsimile of the original Hebrew manuscript, coupled with a new Foreword by well-known scholar of the occult, Stephen Skinner, in which he explores the history of the grimoire in the light of modern scholarship. The first section comprises the English-language Foreword and Introductions, and is 64 pages: printed on quality uncoated paper for easy readability. The remaining 158 pages (the facsimile of the original Hebrew manuscript) are printed on special coated paper, that gives a photograph-like quality to the reproduction of the manuscript, with its numerous drawings of seals, talismans etc. In keeping with tradition, it has been printed so that the English commentaries, which are of course read left to right, are back-to-back with the Hebrew facsimile, which is read from right to left. Please note the English materials are commentaries – not a full translation. NEW book in Fine condition. (no dust jacket issued).
There are two primary parts to Liber Lilith, a psychically received text that is a combination of Gnostic creation myth and practical grimoire, and a diary of a German magician who discovers a copy of the grimoire and works the rituals. It is very difficult to know whether to call this book fiction or nonfiction. The grimoire portion was dictated to me at the rate of one chapter per day, on successive days, from start to finish with no gaps. I did not attempt to edit the text, but merely recorded as I received it. The only exceptions were in connection with the Hebrew and Greek words of power, which required some work to get right, and of course the illustrations, which were done after the reception of the text.
I’m not a writer who habitually receives texts in this manner, so once I had it, I didn’t really know what to do with it. I had my doubts that it would be accepted for publication in its naked form, and a few initial inquiries convinced me that I was probably correct. I decided to set it inside a fictional wrapper that would not only be more interesting to read, but would allow me the opportunity to expand on the practical aspects of the grimoire. Thus the Journal of German magician Karl Steiger came into being. Having decided to cause Steiger to find a manuscript copy of the grimoire in a second-hand bookstore in Berlin, it was necessary to write about the appearance and provenance of the manuscript. In this way, its connection with the Elizabethan sage and magician John Dee arose.
The result is a very strange mixture of fiction and nonfiction, and even I, the author of the work, cannot say where one leaves off and the other begins. Steiger himself is not real, I don’t believe, yet the magic he works is quite accurate and practical, as a way of using the grimoire to initiate an intimate communion with the goddess Lilith. The description of the manuscript appears wholly fabulous, yet John Dee was noted for searching out rare occult manuscripts from all corners of Europe, and was mentioned by H. P. Lovecraft as having made an English translation of the Necronomicon. If the manuscript of Liber Lilith had indeed ever existed, it is not at all unlikely that Dee would have heard about it, and would have sought to obtain a copy.
For a number of years I kept this work entirely to myself. No one was shown it, or given the opportunity to read it. It had a profound influence on my own esoteric studies. I became much more interested in sexual alchemy and sexual energies in ceremonial magic. Perhaps the goddess Lilith herself was influencing me on a deep level. I began to draw upon the Gnostic grimoire for authority in some of my books, such as my Sexual Alchemy, and to experiment with its techniques. Eventually I tried to place it with two publishers, but it was rejected, in large part I believe due to its demonic associations. it has the earmarks of a book of black magic.
In my opinion, after living with this book for many years and applying some of its techniques on an experimental basis, it is not a book to be taken lightly. The horrifying fate of Karl Steiger, although it is a fictional account, it not beyond the realm of possibility for someone who imprudently immersed himself in the practices detailed in the grimoire. That is not to suggest that these practices have no value. They are extremely potent in arousing sexual energies. However, they are to be regarded with prudent respect.
The ritual of necromancy, which ends the grimoire portion of the text, I would sincerely hope is never put into practice, and I have prohibited its use. Even it has its points of interest, as a ritual, but only from a theoretical perspective. I was sorely tempted to cut it entirely out of the grimoire, but that would have necessitated altering the received text, and I did not wish to alter it.
This book may be enjoyed on two entirely separate levels: as a work of fiction, for its entertainment value; or as a serious manual of practical ritual magic. To those with no ritual experience, it will be relatively harmless, since they will not possess the skills to make anything of it, but those with some direct experience in ritual work should tread with care, and test the waters before jumping in head first.
These hardbacks landscape format, 8.5 ins x 12ins. Sheets are 120 gramme watermarked goatskin parchment paper. All three books are uniformly bound in black faux leather elegantly blind stamped with distinctly Sparean profile of face towards for edge of both front and back board.

Thee Temple ov Psychick Youth (TOPY) will be remembered for its crucial influence on youth culture throughout the 1980s, popularizing tattooing, body piercing, “acid house” raves, and other ahead-of-the-curve cultic flirtations and investigations. Its leader was Genesis P-Orridge, co-founder of Psychick TV and Throbbing Gristle, the band that created the industrial music genre.
Included within this handsome limited signed 544 page hardcover sewn-bound ribbon-augmented bible are TOPY’s apocryphal scriptures, decades-worth of updates, making this, is author Genesis Breyer P-Orridge puts it, “the most profound new manual on practical magick, taking it from its Crowleyan empowerment of the Individual to a next level of realization to evolve our species.”
Also included is a DVD with 120 minutes of films from Psychick TV, Temple ov Psychick Youth, Peter “Sleazy” Christopherson, Derek Jarman, and Genesis Breyer P-Orridge.
For several years Solar Lodge prospered, with the initiatic system it offered – based on a fusion of the teachings of the A.: A.: and O.T.O. – evidently attractive to potential students. It gathered together a small but solid core of initiates, some of whom had enough money to invest in real estate and give it a solid financial footing that allowed it to establish temples, undertake a small publication program, start businesses, etc.
The Lodge also had a superb Crowley reference library, which included a substantial segment of the old O.T.O. archives that they had stolen (they would have said ‘retrieved’) from Karl Germer’s widow, Sascha.
In 1967 Solar Lodge moved its focus from Los Angeles to a plot of land in the desert near Vidal, California. There its members studied, performed their rituals and began building a permanent headquarters.
Then disaster struck. First a massive fire engulfed and destroyed the complex, and then a police raid saw thirteen of the group’s members arrested, with warrants issued against others. The ostensible reason for the arrests was the mistreatment of a child. But it was obvious to all that this was merely a pretext to attack the group, which had attracted the suspicion and wrath of conservative locals.
Most of the senior members of the Lodge fled to Mexico, fearful that they would not receive a fair hearing. In an unfortunate twist of fate, the trials of those who remained coincided closely with the horrific Tate-LaBianca murders, and in the media-fueled hysteria that followed, baseless accusations of connections between Charles Manson and his “family” and Solar Lodge spread widely. The Lodge gained a lasting and undeserved notoriety.
The author of this book, Frater Shiva, joined Solar Lodge at its inception and rose to a senior position in its ranks before finally leaving at the time of its implosion in 1972. Inside Solar Lodge – Outside the Law is his reminiscence of life within that group: who they were, how they came together, and what they did and why. As such it gives a rare glimpse into the lives, aspirations and practices of this group of twentieth century magicians, viewed not through the eyes of an historian or sociologist, but from one who was there and a part of it. It also offers, for the first time, a detailed ‘insider’ account of the theft of the Germer library, the ‘boy in the box’ incident, and the alleged connection between the Solar Lodge and the Manson group: all events that have become part of the folklore of American occultism.
The Red Goddess is an octavo book of 260pp, printed throughout in red and black ink, and with four luscious plates.

This is the missing history of the Holy Whore.
Thirteen essays conclude the book on subjects including: roses, mirror magick, BDSM, aphrodisiac drugs, the information age, love vs lust, and the meaning of apocalypse.

This is an important book for these times.
Sad day in the life and book collection of Paul Toner.
Due to needing additional funds for moving back o the city, a lot of bills are needing to be set up and essentials purchased.
This in turn has meant that the first of 6 rare/out of print/collectors books based on the esoteric/occult current are being sold by me. The first is the above title, Liber Lilith by Donald Tyson published by Starfire Publishing in 2006. This fictional grimoire based on the bibical entiy of Lilith is a highly sought after publication and I have been approached by friends wanting to know why they were not offered the purchase of the book before I placed it on Facebook. Reason, I had a head staggers and rushed on ahead without thinking. :( I have a few more rare books going to auction soon so you might wanna check back here or add me on Twitter if your are interested in picking up a rare item.
To be fair I am not happy about selling this and the other 5 books. One being a 1 of 59 copies of Austin Osman Spare sketchings and even contains a signed cheque by AOS himself and a letter to Vera Wainwright.
Anyways… here is the link for my copy of Liber Lilith if your interested in purchasing the copy.
Only 1 day left of the auction.
