How to spot a fake NutriBullet – The hard way

Official NutriBullet

You would think that buying a NutriBullet, from Amazon.co.uk would be a straight forward transaction. I was proved wrong!
Normally, when purchasing from Amazon, you expect reputable sellers, selling authentic products, from the UK.
What I got was a seller in China, masquerading as a UK seller, supplying “Counterfeit goods” to gullible consumers, thinking that they are getting a few pounds off, the normal £99.99 price tag.

So, let me furnish you with the history behind my purchase.
Thinking I was being smart and getting a couple of quid off, the £99.99 item, I purchased the fake Nutribullet from a seller called “summerland”, for £97.68 plus 50p delivery. Nowhere on its page did it state that they were shipping from China or that they were a Chinese company. The time period for delivery should have alerted me to a potential issue. It was going to take 7 – 28 days for delivery. Thought little of it, as I was getting a slightly discounted price.

Fast forward 20 days later, a box arrives wrapped in what I can only describe as a black bin liner. This must have been to waterproof the product, as it traveled on the slow boat from China.
Before even opening the box, I could tell that it was damaged. The box itself was dented and battered. To my surprise when removing the waterproof ectoplasm, the fake Nutri bullet box, in garish green was on display. The product had arrived with zero protection for its journey. Immediately I was concerned that the product itself was damaged. Later though after removing the product from the box, I decided that this device would never have its ignition lit. The reasoning for this will be discussed now.

Straight out of the box, a number of strange anomalies got my spidey senses tingling. I noticed the helpful recipe booklets were inside. Nice and helpful but wait, where’s the warranty? No matter how much I searched, none could be found. This point alone, had me thinking of a complete refund, no matter what else was discovered. With this in mind, I consciously decided to contact the seller and Amazon, once I had fully compiled my evidence, in order to be reimbursed.

So armed with the above, I proceeded to directly message the seller, “summerland” as per Amazon’s recommendations.

“I did not receive a warranty with this item and suspect that it is a fake.
Where do I send the fake item back too and when do I get my refund.

I have attached evidence of your fraudulent product, I have more if required. Failure to respond will result in me notifying Amazon that you are selling illegal items. “

To which they replied.

“Thanks for your message, I’m sorry that you are not satisfied with the item. But how about we refund you £20 with no need to return it back, you can keep it or give your friend who like it, is it okay for you? Wait for your reply. Have a good day.
Best regards”

Not satisfied with the item. Seriously, you sold me a sub-standard counterfeit and expect me to pay you £80 for it. Looks like an email to Amazon is to be my next step.

“summerland Storefront bought from this store, thinking it was UK based. Turns out it was located in China and sells fake products. I was sold a Nutribullet that has no warranty. It’s a fake and I have the photos to prove it. I am requesting a full refund but I am not paying for delivery back to china when I was fooled into thinking it was UK based. I want their account to be investigated and a full refund issued to myself. I have contacted the seller who basically admits blame and offers me £20 refund. This is not acceptable.
Please help me.”

May I add, that delivery to China, using ParcelForce recorded and signed for, came to just over £100. The same cost as the item itself. I was also expected to pay for it according to their returns agreement as it was an electrical item! Not a snowballs chance in hell of that happening!

ParcelForce Signed for

So thankfully Amazon looks on this fraudulent behavior very negatively and proceeded to deal with my refund request.
They managed to turn this around within a day and the seller has refunded the total amount, without the need for me to send the piece of crap back to him.
Yet still they try and make it sound like I was not happy with their product, nothing to do with the fact it was counterfeit!

“Hello, I am contacting about your claim. I am very sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with this transaction. It is our goal to give our customers the best buying experience as possible and if for any reason our customers are dissatisfied we want to take this issue into account. We try to match a 100% satisfaction warranty and bring solutions in a timely and professional manner.

If you thought this transaction was a disappointment we respect your opinion and we would like to give you a full refund as an apology. I hope you would also agree to close the claim after that.
Please let me know if this arrangement would be acceptable.”

Yes, I was not satisfied, you mention a warranty.. I did not get one! 🙂

This is what they sold me… Nutrition Extractor Retailing at £38.99

This post is just a heads up to people who are buying products via Amazon, to be aware that fakes can be sold. Be on the look out and due to the lack of images and posts in relation to fake NutriBullets, I decided to post this. Just in case others are sold a suspect unit, they can check it off against my images etc.

Finally, I now have a cough NutriBullet for sale, if anyone is interested. 🙂
I joke. Best to buy via their official website.

Minimal 3D renders from the digital Abbey of Thelema Project

Having recently released the initial Temple image, on the LAShTAL.com, I have decided to release a few more views, on my personal blog, for those who are interested along with a brief update.

abbey1

Firstly, I must thank a couple of people have been very generous with their time and resources. James Gosling & Richard T Cole (who sadly, I have not heard from in a while).

We now have rendered up the “shell” of the Abbey and have hit a bit of a stumbling block. The internal murals, painting and furniture proves to be illusive, in regards to information . We have gleamed partial insights into the furniture and the rooms the Abbey contained. This resulted in the floor plan being slightly altered and the room names being changed, to reflect those titles, the inhabitants gave the rooms. The updated plans can be found at this link. Latest revised Abbey of Thelema Plans -Rev C.
We retrieved information from various sources. For example the 100th Monkey Press has a invaluable resource, from which the THE
YORKSHIRE POST 13 APRIL 1934 INVITED TO “TRY MAGIC” IN COURT, article can be found. The Great Beast by John Symonds has a very detailed description of the Temple space. This totally went under my radar and I can thank a Brother for pointing me to this books pages. Also used the Jane Wolfe: The Cefalu Diaries 1920 – 1923 from the College of Thelema for further insights.
Bill Hendrick also provided, via his website, the “Tourist Guide” Essay that Aleister Cowley penned for the Abbey of Thelema. Whilst this is purely a written description, it will prove useful as to identifying what murals go on what walls. Richard T Cole did have a illustrated adaptation of this on his website, though it has since been taken offline unfortunately.

We are awaiting a copy of Richard’s book, Thelema Revisited : In search of Aleister Crowley that is kindly being provided by James Gosling. As Richard is unavailable, via any of the means of contact I had for him, this will be my best point of reference. I do hope that he is well and safe.

A request for assistance was also submitted to the Ordo Templi Orientis, via their US Grand Lodge Website. It has yet to bear fruit.

Finally a massive thank you to Mr. William Pollock of Arcgraphics, without whom this 3D project would be dead on its feet.

Our next step is to take one room, one wall at a time and try and obtain the best images available to us, for inclusion in the render.
So If anyone knows of, or has high res images of the murals, in their best state, please let me know and email me at me@paultoner.com.

So here are some images! Kindest regards & 93’s.

My scrap MacBook Pro for sale… Parts anyone?

Yes, seems like I took my MacBook Pro a step too far! With it being 5 years old and having served me relentlessly, I have taken it to the threshold and one of my dearest and loyal friends is gone….. I was running Lion and Windows 7 Ultimate by dual booting and Boot Camp. Maxxed out the graphics card and it crumpled. So I am looking to sell it for parts as I do not want to change the logic board but buy a new laptop instead. So anyone out there who is looking for a screen, touch pad, keyboard, or other internal parts I have placed it on eBay for sale.

Make an offer or Buy Now if you are interested. Doubtful many would be but at least I will advertise it in order to hopefully increase traffic and potential buyers.

All details for the eBay auction are at the link below.

I am now the owner of a Samsung Galaxy S2.

After using a bruised and battered Sony Ericsson K810i for the last 4 months, due to my absentmindedly losing my HTC Desire in the back of a cab!  I toyed with the idea of upgrading to a new iPhone 5 when my upgrade was available on the 12th of October…. though, it failed to appear….  a disappointing upgraded iPhone 4 emerged and straight away I contemplated going back to Android having being let down by Apple. Who may I add suck up quite a few wary souls by their excellent marketing and the art of selling phones with basic upgrades. 🙂

I went straight into research mode and looked at the competitors out there. Almost immediately i was taken by the superior spec and the tinker abilities of the Samsung Galaxy S2 and Andriod 2.3.2. I was sold and due the the substantially better deals you could get from O2 in relation to the smartphone I negotiated a £31 a month contract with 1GB data, 500 anytime /network mins… plus unlimited O2 to O2 calls and unlimited texts and BT Openzone and Wi-Fi access. Not bad as the same deal on the substandard iPhone4S would cost you £15 more as its an Apple phone! Joke really aint it!

Considering that Android has has voice commands and the S2 also has a better camera and overall spec , I have not been disappointed in the least and am glad I have a S2 even tho its a 2 year deal. This will defo last me that length of time and fingers crossed the new Android 4 gets released and updated via O2, otherwise I may have to manually install it myself as it does look excellent! Oh did i mention it has facial recognition software…. Android is now leading the market not Apple as they would make you believe!

Compare the Samsung Galaxy vrs iPhone4S Vrs HTC Sensation XL

Illegal Drugs moves onto the web – Digitial Black-market.

Anyone heard of “The Silk Road”? I would doubt it and most of you will not even know how to access this amazon style website that sells herion, E’s, speed, acid etc etc. You would need a open source piece of software called “Tor” (an anonymizing network), which was developed by the US Navy originally. Then you can use the Url to connect. You buy credits then you can buy what you like. Crazy that it can be done but I sure as hell aint gonna try it out tho I may log on just to see the system in work. This may have to be used in future for other purposes as tighter controls on the internet are coming thick and fast. Soon you will not be able to have freedom of speech!

Anyways read more in this article CLICK HERE>>>> The Silk Road

For the Tor software CLICK HERE>>>> Tor

The rest is up to you! 🙂
